The Czech artist, illustrator, writer, musician dramatist and performer Petr Nikl (1960) studied in the Secondary School of Applied Arts in the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studio of Professors Arnošt Paderlík and Jiří Ptáček. He is among other things holder of the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize for 1995, awarded for visual artists under 35. In Litomyšl he is presenting paintings created spontaneously with Chinese ink on rice paper with mechanical toys and his own assistance.
The artist himself says that individual works in the exhibition do not have names. “Although for myself I give them names ex post, according to what these stains remind me of. I enjoy it, that bleeding is very organic, reminiscent of various biological forms and it would be impossible to imitate them by hand,” ends Petr Nikl.
