The breath and hands of renowned musicians master musical instruments and transform sheet music into noble tones. The melody then becomes the breath and hands of the art glassmaker Jiří Pačinek, who creates a unique series of crystal musical instruments, among them a trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, French horn and flute.
Jiří Pačinek thus symbolically continues his project from last year, The Tones of Glass in the crypt of the Church of Finding the Holy Cross where he combined uranium-tinted glass with stage music by the Czech instrumentalist Miloš Mio Vacík. This year's project AEROFONIA will also include a unique exhibit, the glassmaker's crystal blowpipe without which the breath of glassmakers could never shape the hot liquid glass matter into art objects.
