10. 6. – 7. 7. 2024
Twenty performers and ambassadors of Czech classical music in portraits by photographer Štěpánka Stein and artist Venda Mlejnská.
The exhibition project was created as part of the Year of Czech Music and presents performers of Czech classical music through impressive photographic portraits. The manuscript of the images by the photographer Štěpánka Stein and the artist Vendy Mlejnská will captivate the visitors of the exhibition with their unusually strong visual representation and content. For each performer, the artists chose an unconventional location with the aim of presenting the world of classical music through contemporary photography and confronting it with the present. The large-format photographs depicting, for example, conductor Jakub Hrůša, soprano Gabriela Beňačková, violinist Josef Špaček, prima ballerina Daria Klimentová or flutist Jana Semerádová thus disturb our usual ideas about classical music and its performers in their meaning and form.
