“Glass is the pride and joy of Mother Nature,” says the old wisdom. Glassmaking has changed the face of the Highlands forever: glowing forests have given way to meadows, meadows, meanders. The transformed landscape attracted painters and inspired glassmakers. The Glass and Nature exhibition presents works by glassmaking legends, the Roubíček couple, presented in the exterior and interior of the gallery, sculptures by other top studio glassmakers and paintings of the Milov Basin by landscape artists inspired by Antonín Slavíček and Prof. Otakar Nejedlý: Macoun, Hanych, Sodomka, Wagner, Fiala, Cina Jelínek, Odvárka, Skořepa. The symbiosis of glass and nature is shown by a thousand exhibits of Czech glass from five centuries.
