14. 6. – 4. 10. 2026
Patrik Hábl (1975) is an outstanding personality of contemporary Czech painting with an international reach. He has gained his audience through experimental painting approaches, monumental installations and artistic interventions in various types of spaces, interiors and exteriors of buildings, and since 2013, entrances to sacred buildings have returned as a constant in his work.
His work is characterized by a movement between figurative and abstract or structural painting. These positions do not have precisely defined boundaries, quite the opposite. One flows into the other – a landscape or a figure dissolves into an abstract structure, while a face, a fragment of a body or a figure emerges from the structure. This approach is also found in the works presented in the exhibition Behind the Image – in the cycles Old Masters, Torn Paintings, Asian Landscapes, etc.
