“Don’t judge a book by its cover!” This saying is out of the question in the case of the competition for the most beautiful book of the year. The traditional show of nominated and awarded Czech books under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Memorial of National Literature. The competition evaluates the graphic, printing and illustrative design of the book. From the sixty nominated titles, the best ones are selected in seven genre categories.
The winning titles for 2022 will be on display throughout the whole festival; the newly awarded books published in 2023 will be on display after the awarding Ceremony in Prague on Wednesday 12 June. Litomyšl will thus be the first place where the winning books will be available for viewing and browsing.
