The intimate exhibition will present to the public a hitherto unknown part of the portrait gallery of the Deans of Litomyšl from the collections of the local Catholic clergy. Primarily, the oldest portraits will be presented, including the newly restored painting by Tomáš Pešina from Čechorod, an important Baroque patriot and writer, who was the Dean of Litomyšl between the years 1657–1666. The phenomenon of the "Baroque priests" has long been overshadowed by research interests, and it is only recent research that confirms that it was them who imprinted a unique spiritual face on our cities and towns. The presented collection will be supplemented by some of the younger portraits as well as several interesting portraits from the surrounding church collections.
