Renata Edlmanová’s works focus primarily on material collage, which is distinguished by its vivid colour. However, in her project for the City Picture Gallery, entitled Revers, the artist abandons her current way of working in favour of a conceptually conceived work that thematises the sewing process itself. Instead of sleek and technically perfect structures, in the new exhibition the artist offers viewers “a view from the other, reverse side”. Minimalist embroideries with motifs of dance poses were created randomly. They are a reflection of reality, in which every thought or deed has its other, hidden face.
