This year’s Smetana Art Litomyšl will be international. Through the work of Gerhard Flekatsch, visitors to the Castle Brewery can get acquainted with one of the forms of contemporary Austrian art.
“The exhibition Resonance by the Austrian artist Gerhard Flekatsch will present the artist’s solo presentation prepared in collaboration with curator Martina Zuzaňáková in the Castle Brewery. Visitors will see gestural ink drawings on paper, video, installations and works combining painting, photography and other media. The term “resonance” is best known from the field of physics and acoustics, where it refers to the state when a system resonates or vibrates due to the influence of a corresponding external force. In a figurative sense, however, it also refers to the harmony, response or relationship between humans, the world and nature. The exhibition is thus thematically related to this year’s festival motto – natura.”
