Something else

16. 6. – 2. 10. 2025

The exhibition project presents a wooden installation with a sequence of wooden objects together with an original sound component. The author of the material part, Matěj Smetana, is a Czech artist who explores questions of science, technology and human cognition with an emphasis on playfulness and experimentation with visual forms. His original combination of theoretical approaches and visual lightness makes him one of the leading figures in contemporary Czech visual art. He is also interested in semantic paradoxes, the ambiguity of naming things and the processes of word meaning formation. His domain is also the representation of imaginary phases within one installation.
The author of the sound part, Martin Hurych, focuses on the gradual transformation of sound shapes with the involvement of the temporal aspect.
