15. 6. – 30. 8. 2025
The Miroslav Kubík Gallery presents the first retrospective exhibition of glass sculpture by Václav Cigler, curated by Michal Motyčka and Jana Šindelová. Václav Cigler (*1929) is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable
artists of our time. He is the founder of the conceptual perception of glass as an art object in the world context. The domain of his work is working with space, with optical glass, with light and water. Universally and conceptually understood, Cigler’s artistic and pedagogical work combines a brilliant intuition and an extraordinary ability to convey to the viewer a different experience of perception, which is often mediated by very complex contemporary technologies. In the words of the artist: we are, we evolve, we become, we change, each problem moves us to a different experience and vision.
